As independent practitioners, advocates and advisers, members of the Bar influence the functioning of the country’s legal industry and contribute to the evolution of law.

This event category recognizes outstanding performance by an Advocate-on-Record, filing/practicing/consulting/advising at the Bar. Advocate on Record is an advocate who is entitled under the Order IV of the Supreme Court Rules, 2013 framed under Article 145 of the Constitution, to act as well as to plead for a party in the Supreme Court of India.

Eligibility

  • The nominations are open to all lawyers who are Advocate-On-Record as on 30th October, 2022.
  • Only individual lawyers enrolled as Advocate-On-Record can apply.
  • The nominee should be a licensed lawyer enrolled in any State Bar in India.
  • The nominee should be an Indian citizen.
  • For the special category of nominees with less than 10 years’ experience, the date of the nominee’s enrolment as an Advocate-On-Record be less than 10 years ago as on 31st October, 2022.

Assessment Criteria

Submissions will be judged on the basis of responses to the following questions along with the supporting and additional material. Kindly answer each question in 500 words max:

  • Provide details of your professional achievements/outstanding work in your area of practice/specialization from 1st October, 2021 to 31st October, 2022. (400 words Max) *
  • What sets you apart as a leader in your field of practice? In addition to positive client outcomes, what does being a successful AOR mean to you? (400 words Max) *
  • How have you contributed to the growth and progress of the wider legal community? (400 words Max) *
